It’s refreshing to see something different!
How to Catch a Dragon is an epic addition to the legendary How to Catch Series with its theme centred around Chinese New Year.
Our kids attempt to capture the dragon using a bunch of creative Chinese-inspired traps, including the red envelopes and webs made from Chinese food. The characters try to capture the dragon for health and luck in the new year, but they failed. The grandma of the boy, at the end of the book, shows a paper mache dragon he made and said that it is her favorite.
This is another little heartwarming part of the series, with really engaging and thematic illustrations from Andy Elkerton.
Even though the boy might not have caught the dragon, he reminisces feeling happy to be celebrating with his family – which is the most important takeaway from this lovely little book.
