Our Review
The illustrations are colorful and lively, as always thanks to wonderful illustrator Pete Oswald. And the story is told in a humorous and engaging way. Children will enjoy the story and the message, and adults will appreciate the subtle lessons about not holding grudges. Overall, The Sour Grapes is a wonderfully delightful and heartwarming read that is sure to bring a smile to the faces of readers of all ages.
The moral of The Sour Grape is to appreciate and be happy with who you are, even if you are not perfect. We watch as our Grape turns sour as his friends miss out on plans. We’ve all been there, and it hurts when it happens. We go on a journey of self-discovery to see that even if we were wronged, it is better for one to accept and forgive than lose the people you love over something so trivial.
Sometimes it takes a little push for us to truly see the bigger picture. Overall, this is a lovely little read for people of all ages. Jory John never fails to present lovely messages in fun packaging.
