Merry Christmas Splat! Our Favorite Fuzzy Friend Returns!

Since we’re in the festive, it’s only right that we take a look at one of our favorite Splat the Cat shenanigans in a cozy Winter special: Merry Christmas Splat!

If you visit the children’s section of any bookstore or library in America today, you’ll see a fuzzy black cat named Splat.  The original Splat the Cat book came out in 2008. It swiftly rose to the top of the charts with eight additional books in the original series. And over a dozen more companion books in what is now an entire Splat universe. The character might look like he just took a tumble in your dryer, but it’s all part of his charm.

Our Review

This wonderful book follows our furry friend Splat the Cat as he writes a letter to Santa. He wants a biiiig present and promised that he has been good. Then he starts thinking that maybe he actually wasn’t that good and sets out to set his record straight. He helps his mom wash already-clean dishes, decorates an already-decorated Christmas tree… and well… does more harm than good.

As with all Splat the Cat books, there’s something so endlessly lovable about Splat. He’s a little messy, clumsy, but oh so lovable! And he tries, he really does!

The illustrations fit the vibe of Christmas perfectly. It’s colorful and cozy without being too garish or too mild to be attractive to kids. There is the perfect balance of color and theme, and seeing Splat do all of his ‘chores’ is so heartwarming!

Splat definitely deserves the biggest present!
